Glory Hole

Bray and I had the opportunity to steal away for the weekend and try out all of our new hiking goodies that we got for Christmas. We had such a good time with just the two of us! Much needed Bray-Jordan time! We ended up at the Glory Hole around the Buffalo National River.

It has been rainy and yucky around here for what seems like forever. On our drive up, the fog was so thick that you could barely see a few feet in front of the car. The Boxley Valley area that we were in had freezing fog over night and it made the trees gorgeously covered in ice.

We used the recent poor weather to our advantage because we pretty much had the whole trail to ourselves and the water was flowing something fierce. It made for an impressive sight with the falls!

Bray is always teasing me about being a clutz and threatening to walk off if I fall. Well joke was on him because he nearly fell twice on this one! I might have gloated a little..

I loved all of the hand prints on the cave wall! I suggested to Bray that we put our prints up too…he didn’t see the point. I suggested that it was a romantic gesture…then he really didn’t see the point! Insert EYE ROLL!

We had fun exploring around the falls for a while. We took a quick break…ate some beef jerky…watched to make sure Big Foot didn’t take off with my Jack Links…successfully tinkled in the woods without soaking myself…all around successful morning!

Oh! And, we saw this herd of about twenty-five elk!
